ADMISSION INTO OPEN, DISTANCE AND FLEXIBLE E-LEARNING PROGRAMMES: NATIONAL DIPLOMA, HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA, PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE COURSES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following ODFeL Programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.
NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Basic admission requirements: Candidates must obtain five credits at WASC/GCE O'L/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings. The requirements for these courses are the same as for JAMB ND requirements.
Note: ADMISSION WITH DEFICIENCY IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES (candidates may be admitted with 3 credit passes but must rewrite O'level before graduation).
A. Faculty of Business Studies (FBS)

| Business Administration & Management | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and or Commerce and any two subjects from the following: Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry/Health Science, Geography, Financial Accounting, Government/Civic Education/History, Marketing/Insurance, Information Communication Technology/Data Processing. |
| Marketing | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and or Commerce and any two subjects from the following: Government/Civic, Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry, Geography, Accounts/Bookkeeping, Marketing/Salesmanship, Insurance, Storekeeping, Data processing/ICT and Tourism. |
| Public Administration | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English- Language, Mathematics, Government and two other subjects from the following: Economics, Commerce, CRK/IRK, Literature in English, Geography, Biology/Agricultural/Animal Husbandry, Principle of Accounts, History, Civic Education, Book Keeping. |
| Taxation | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant subjects from Economics, Account, Commerce, Geography, Government. |
| Microfinance and Enterprise Development | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant subjects from Civic Education, Computer Science, Insurance, Economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Agriculture/Biology and Commerce. |
| Insurance | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Economics, with two other subjects excluding Yoruba and Religious Studies |
| Cooperative Economics and Management | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English, maths and three other subjects from Economics, Business Methods, Accounting, Government and Agric / Biology. |
B. Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies (FSSCS)

| Library and Information Science | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three other subjects from the following: Literature in English, Economics/Commerce/Marketing/Insurance, Fine arts, Civic Education/History/Government, Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo/French, CRK/IRK, Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry, Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electricity, Geography, Typewriting/Office-Practice, Book Keeping/Accounting, Information and Communication Technology/Computer Studies/Data Processing and Food & Nutrition/Catering & Craft Practice/Home Economics. |
| Social Development | 2 Sessions | Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three credit passes from the following: Government/History/Civic Education, Basic Electricity/Physics/GSM Maintenance & Repair, Economics/Commerce/Marketing, Accounting/Book Keeping, Geography/Tourism, Agricultural Science/Biology/Animal Husbandry/Health Sciences/Food & Nutrition/Catering & Craft Practice, Typewriting/Office Practice, ICT/Data processing/Computer Studies, Fine art/Visual Arts/Dyeing/Bleaching/Photography, and CRK/IRK. |
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Basic Requirements: Candidates for the Higher National Diploma Programmes must possess ND Certificates from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo or from any other Polytechnic recognized by the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo obtained at the Distinction or Credit Level. Candidates must also possess five O’Level Credit Passes in relevant subjects.
